During the summer, Thiago Alcantara joined Hansi Flick’s coaching staff at Barcelona, and although he was only in the position for a couple of months, he left a lasting impression. As a result, it is expected that he will return to the club in January to resume his duties.
Sport say that Thiago is currently weighing up the decision, although he is in no rush as he wants to take some time and space after a long playing career. However, what plays in Barcelona’s favour is that the 33-year-old intends to become a manager in the future – and doing so at the Spotify Camp Nou is one of his dreams.
There is no doubt that Thiago could follow in the footsteps of the likes of Pep Guardiola and Xavi Hernandez in having played and managed Barcelona. He’s already made a good impression on the club with his coaching skills, and this would be taken into account in the future.
