Mario Balotelli has spoken warmly about Inter and Cristian Chivu, admitting he would be happy to see the Nerazzurri win the Scudetto while praising the coach as “a fantastic guy”.

According to TMW, via FCInterNews, Balotelli was speaking to reporters at Bergamo airport before departing for Dubai.

Where he is set to begin a new chapter with Al-Ittifaq.

The former Italy striker expressed enthusiasm for the move.

He described it as “a good project” and admitting he “can’t wait to get there”.

Asked about possible offers from Italy, Balotelli revealed that some contact had taken place but accepted that football has changed.

“There are other players and younger ones, and it’s right to give them space,” he said, joking that at 35 he is “still stronger than the others”.

Balotelli also addressed the Scudetto race, making his preference clear.

“Today, Inter have something extra,” he said.

Meanwhile also warning not to underestimate Milan.

“If Inter or Milan won, I’d be happy anyway.”

The strongest praise, however, was reserved for Chivu.

“Cristian is a fantastic guy,” Balotelli said.

“Playing with him was an honour. He’s a really good person, and as a coach he’s top level.”

On Serie A, Balotelli was blunt. “It’s goodbye,” he said, unless “a madman who wants to win the league” comes calling.
