Former Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has backed club outcast Mason Greenwood for a move to Juventus.
The Bianconeri have been linked with a move for Greenwood earlier today and they are said to be keepings tabs on the Englishman for months now, but their interest has intensified in recent weeks. The forward has impressed for Getafe and has also attracted interest from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Romero spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TMW) about Greenwood’s future and whether a move to Juve would suit him or not. The Argentine backed the Englishman for a move to the Old Lady.
He said: “I’m convinced that Mason would do well in any big team, even Juventus. A Greenwood-Vlahovic-Chiesa trident would be super.”
Reports today have stated that Greenwood would potentially be seen as a replacement for Chiesa, who has been linked with the possibility of a summer exit. The United man offers the versatility of playing across the front three, which can’t be said of Chiesa but the possibility of the Italian, Greenwood and Dusan Vlahovic playing together in a front three is rather appealing.
