Former Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro registered his first win in charge of Swedish outfit AIK Fotboll.

The Spanish mentor guided his team to a 3-0 victory over second-tier side IK Oddevold in the Svenska Cupen - the Swedish cup.

AIK moved up to second place in Group 7, having picked up three points in two games, ahead of their final match against Hacken on Monday, 09 March.

The competition is divided into seven groups comprising of four teams each, with the group winners advancing to the next stage.

Riveiro took over the reins in January, ending swirling rumours about a possible return to the lucrative Betway Premiership and links to the Bafana Bafana job after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

This comes after a tumultuous spell with Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC, where he was axed just three months into the job after masterminding one win in the seven games he oversaw.

In contrast, the 50-year-old tactician enjoyed success with Pirates as he guided the Buccaneers to five domestic cup titles during his tenure.
