Former Southampton director of football Jason Wilcox, who now works as Man United technical director, could be key to convincing Tyler Dibling.

Tyler Dibling is one of those Southampton players who we know is playing their final few months in a Saints shirt. As a boyhood Saint, it will be bittersweet to see him leave. Of course, as a young player with aspiration, he has to take this opportunity while it's there but still, we shouldn't be presenting him on a silver platter.

Look, losing young players to top clubs is not an entirely alien feeling to Southampton. In fact, the Saints have formed quite the reputation for being a "feeder club" for this very reason. With this tactic, it's the owners who reap the rewards, but the everyday fan has to watch the players leave on a routine basis.

Anyway, with Tyler Dibling, it's a matter of when, not if. This transfer will also come down to competition between some of Europe's top clubs; obviously, Southampton will want to use this to their advantage for the most money possible.

Ex-Southampton staff could convince Tyler Dibling to join Man United

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Man United has an "ace card" in Jason Wilcox. The former Southampton director of football, who now acts as Man United's technical director, knows Tyler Dibling personally.

This raises eyebrows, given Man United's interest in signing Tyler Dibling. Within the report, it is stated that Man United sent scouts to watch Tyler Dibling in action during the international duty but as expected, they were joined by their competitors too.
