Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly winger Phakamani Mahlambi has been spotted training with Betway Premiership side TS Galaxy on Thursday morning.
The 28-year-old came through the development ranks at the now defunct Bidvest Wits and was promoted to the first-team under coach Gavin Hunt during the 2015/16 season.
Mahlambi swiftly impressed at the Clever Boys and secured a big money move to Egyptian giants Ahly two seasons later.
However, he struggled to command a regular place in the starting XI, and was brought back to his homeland by Sundowns the subsequent term.
His spell at Chloorkop also proved unsuccessful as he failed to break into the star-studded Downs team, prompting a series of loan moves to AmaZulu and Chippa United, respectively.
Mahlambi last played professional football during his loan stint at the Chilli Boys under Hunt in the 2021/22 campaign, and has been unattached since then.
Interestingly, the ex-SuperSport United mentor recently gave Mahlambi a chance to train with Durban City but the KZN-based outfit opted against signing him.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Galaxy coach Adnan Beganovic and the club's hierarchy will offer the player a contract as he appears to have been afforded yet another lifeline.
