Harry Redknapp has thrown his hat into the ring to become Tottenham’s new manager after Thomas Frank was sacked.
Frank, the former Brentford boss, was relieved of his duties in north London after his Spurs side were beaten by Newcastle 2-1 on Tuesday.
Spurs have still not won a Premier League game in 2026, with their last victory coming at Crystal Palace before the turn of the year.
The defeat by Newcastle in midweek proved to be Frank’s final game, and Spurs are now on the hunt for his successor.
They have been linked with the likes of Roberto De Zerbi, the ex-Brighton manager, who is now available after he left Marseille by mutual consent on Tuesday.
John Heitinga, Frank’s assistant at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, could be in line to succeed his boss on an interim basis.
Former Spurs manager Redknapp, 78, has surprisingly put himself forward to succeed Frank.
Appearing on Sky Sports News, Redknapp, who led Spurs to the Champions Legue in the 2009-10 season, said: “Of course I would want the Tottenham job!
“Could I do it? Of course I could.
They’ve got my number. They know where I am

“They've got my number. If anyone wants to ring me, they know where I am."
"I’m a realist – I don’t live in [cloud] cuckoo land. It would be very doubtful I would get the job."
Spurs find themselves 16th in the Premier League table, and lie five points clear of the relegation zone.
Their next match is the north London derby against Arsenal on February 22.
