Former Wolves striker Rafa Mir has been sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison in Spain for sexually assaulting two women. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 28-year-old was convicted alongside another player.

A lower court in the Valencia region found the pair guilty of attacks carried out in 2024 at Mir’s home in the city, where he was then playing.

The court imposed seven years for sexual assault and a further 18 months for causing physical harm.

The second player, identified in documents as Pablo J G, is a lower-division footballer in Spain. He received two-and-a-half years for sexual assault and causing physical harm.

Mir denied wrongdoing, saying the women consented to sex. The court said the victim’s testimony was consistent and credible, supported by witnesses and forensic reports.

The victim was awarded compensation of €64,000, and the ruling is not final and may be appealed.

Mir spent last season at Elche on loan from Sevilla, with his deal there due to expire at the end of this month. He joined Wolves in 2018 and left in 2021 after three loans, making four appearances without scoring.
