Fabrizio Romano reports that Fortuna Düsseldorf midfielder Yannik Engelhardt is set to join newly promoted Serie A side Como.

Engelhardt only joined Düsseldorf last summer from SC Freiburg for €600k but played a key role at the Merkur Spiel Arena which saw Düsseldorf almost gain promotion back to the Bundesliga if not for a penalty shoot-out loss to Bochum in the Relegation Playoff, while Düsseldorf also made the semi-finals of the DFB Pokal losing to eventual winners Bayer Leverkusen.

In Northern Italy, Engelhardt will join an ambitious club led by Cesc Fabregas. This summer, Como has already completed the signings of Pepe Reina, and Andrea Belotti with Raphaël Varane also expected to move to the side.

For Düsseldorf, this is their second major departure of the summer after Christos Tzolis joined Club Brugge for €6.5m. The Greek international spent last season on loan at Düsseldorf but due to an option to buy, the club were able to cash in on his 22-goal season.
