Four at one stroke! Bayern extends coaching team

FC Bayern is consistently pushing ahead with its strategic realignment. Following the early contract extension with head coach Vincent Kompany, the German record champions have now also tied down his entire coaching team for the long term. Assistant coaches René Marić, Aaron Danks and Floribert Ngalula as well as goalkeeping coach Michael Rechner have extended their contracts until June 30, 2029

With the decision to extend their contracts until 2029, FC Bayern is sending out a clear signal: stability, trust and a clear sporting plan should shape the path of the coming years. Kompany, whose contract was already extended early until 2029 in October, can thus also rely on those employees who are significantly involved in the sporting development of the team in the long term

Eberl underlines the path taken

Director of Sport Max Eberl made it clear how important this personnel decision is for the future of the club. „We are delighted that we have been able to extend the contract with Vincent Kompany and his coaching team. With this well-established constellation, we want to continue on our chosen path and tackle the challenges of the future together,“ explained the 52-year-old

Eberl’s words underline the fact that FC Bayern is not only concerned with the head coach, but also with the entire environment that supports the sporting success. The extension is therefore also a vote of confidence in the daily work on the training pitch, in the content and in the detailed work that is often crucial in the background

A clear signature has been evident since Vincent Kompany took over. Bayern are structured, physically stable and tactically flexible. A significant part of this development can be attributed to the coaching team. Maric is regarded as the tactical mastermind, Danks brings international experience, Floribert Ngalula is known above all for individual development and detailed work. Goalkeeping coach Michael Rechner, on the other hand, has enjoyed an excellent reputation for years and plays a central role in the development of Bayern’s keepers

The fact that the club is now retaining this team for the long term shows how satisfied those responsible are with the work done so far. Particularly in a phase in which many young players are being introduced to the team and the squad is being carefully restructured, personnel continuity on the coaching bench is a decisive factor

The extensions are also a clear signal to the professionals: the course we have taken is a long-term project, which means planning security for players, a reliable structure for talented players and a clear identity for the club as a whole.
