Four big stars who could leave Newcastle United this summer | OneFootball

Newcastle United have had a disappointing 2025-26 campaign. 

The Magpies are likely to miss out on European qualification as they sit 14th in the Premier League table with eight games remaining. 

Newcastle produced a much-improved display against Arsenal last weekend, but they still came away with a 1-0 defeat from North London. 

The recent run of results have put manager Eddie Howe under huge pressure, and there is no certainty he will be in the dugout next season. 

If Newcastle miss out on European qualification, several top players could push for an exit in the summer transfer window. 

Anthony Gordon

Gordon has been a key first-team player since joining the club in 2023. 

But the England international reportedly wants to leave the Magpies this summer, with Bayern Munich and Arsenal both keen to secure his services. 

Newcastle tried to keep Alexander Isak against his will last year, but that still led to a messy departure in the end. 

They probably will have learned their lesson and won’t repeat the same mistake with Gordon. 

Sandro Tonali

Tonali has been an important first-team player this campaign, featuring in 32 Premier League games. 

However, the club’s chief executive David Hopkinson has conceded they need to sell to comply with the new financial rules. 

Tonali has no shortage of suitors, with both Manchester United and Manchester City credited with an interest in the midfielder. 

But Newcastle’s £100 million valuation could be a major hurdle in transfer negotiations. 

Bruno Guimaraes

Bruno Guimaraes has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League since joining Newcastle in 2022. 

He is highly rated for his versatility, as he can play as a box-to-box midfielder as well as a deep-lying playmaker. 

Guimaraes is contracted until 2028, but Newcastle could be tempted to sell him. 

United have been linked with an interest, and a lucrative offer could convince the Tyneside club to let the Brazilian leave this summer.  

Tino Livramento

Livramento is yet to sign a new contract with Newcastle, despite his deal expiring in 2028. 

This has fueled speculations regarding his future at St James’ Park. 

Manchester City are known admirers of the 23-year-old, while Arsenal could also be in the market for a new full-back.  

With Kieran Trippier leaving, the Magpies will be reluctant to lose another right-back this summer. 

But they could find it hard to turn down a big offer from City or Arsenal.
