Four Borussia Dortmund players have been called up to the latest Germany squad by Julian Nagelsmann, with two making their return to the team.
The final international break of 2024 is almost upon us, and Julian Nagelsmann has announced his Germany squad for UEFA Nations League matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary. Four Borussia Dortmund players have received call-ups to the team, with Nico Schlotterbeck and Pascal Groß joined by Julian Brandt and Felix Nmecha.
While Schlotterbeck and Groß have established himself as regulars in the Germany squad under Nagelsmann, Brandt and Nmecha have been called up after a long absence.
Brandt, who has won 47 caps for Germany, last featured for the national team in November 2023. The Borussia Dortmund vice-captain will hope to make the most of this opportunity and stake a claim for more Germany appearances.
Nmecha has been rewarded for his strong recent performances for Borussia Dortmund with a place in the Germany squad. The 24 year old has made just one national team appearance so far, which came in March 2023. He will hope to continue his impressive run of form in the Germany camp.
Waldemar Anton, Karim Adeyemi, Maximilian Beier, and Emre Can have all been left out of the squad. Anton and Adeyemi have been sidelined with injury, while Beier is expected to once again play for the Germany U-21s.
Also nominated to the Germany squad is Stefan Ortega, with the Manchester City goalkeeper set to compete with Alexander Nübel and Oliver Baumann for a spot in goal.
Germany will look to secure top spot in their Nations League group this month, having already secured their place in the quarterfinals.
