According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, four CD Castellón players are one booking from suspension before Sunday’s penultimate league trip to SD Huesca. Any yellow would rule them out of the finale at SkyFi Castalia against SD Eibar.

The quartet are midfielders Diego Barri and Ronaldo Pompeu, centre-back Fabrizio Brignani and playmaker Israel Suero. Their availability at this stage is a significant tactical consideration for the coaching staff.

Barri has anchored midfield through the campaign, providing balance, ball recovery and calm in build-up. Losing him would force a rethink in the centre of the park.

Pompeu offers creativity between the lines and a telling final pass. The uncertainty would deepen were he and Barri to be booked, especially with Jeremy Mellot out and Gerenabarrena often covering at right-back.

Brignani is a regular at the heart of defence and a factor at set plays. Suero’s movement between the lines and threat around the box regularly add final-third spark and experience.

Mellot’s absence is already confirmed for the remainder of the league programme due to injury. A return would only be possible if the side reach the promotion play-offs, a scenario not yet assured.
