Four Ligue 1 clubs interested in Lyon’s Saël Kumbedi | OneFootball

According to Foot Mercato, there are four Ligue 1 clubs interested in signing Saël Kumbedi (19) from Olympique Lyonnais this summer. The right-back had an impressive debut campaign for Les Gones in the 2022/23 season but has struggled for game time under current manager Pierre Sage (making only one brief appearance in the second half of last season).

His past performances have not been forgotten and rival Ligue 1 sides believe that there is a player with the potential for growth tucked out of sight at Lyon. RC Strasbourg Alsace are thought to be extremely interested in a player whose value is estimated by the French outlet to be around €8 to €10 million.

Stade Rennais and OGC Nice are also thought to be in the market to strengthen in the fullback position, although Nice reportedly would like to also bring in a more experienced figure alongside Kumbedi such as Olympique de Marseille’s Jonathan Clauss (31).

Stade de Reims are the final side following Kumbedi, and it remains to be seen which of these clubs if any will make the first move this summer.
