Four men arrested over city centre disorder after Wolves match | OneFootball

Four men have been arrested weeks after disorder in Wolverhampton city centre following a Wolves match against Stoke City.

West Midlands Police said three men were detained on Tuesday morning at addresses in Wolverhampton, Willenhall and Birmingham, and a fourth, aged 55, was arrested at a police station on Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of affray.

The arrests relate to disorder after the 29 August fixture and come ahead of Wolves hosting West Bromwich Albion at Molineux on Sunday.

Men aged 64, 54 and 37 have been charged with a public order offence, with the 64-year-old also charged with obstructing and assaulting a police officer.

They have been released on police bail with strict conditions and are due to appear at Dudley Magistrates Court next month. Conditions include not attending any regulated football fixture or entering Wolverhampton city centre in the hours before and after a Wolverhampton Wanderers fixture.

The arrests were intended to send a clear message that violence before, during or after matches will not be tolerated, with specialist teams continuing to identify and detain suspects.

Investigations into the 29 August disorder remain ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting crime reference 20/380807/26.
