According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica and Club Brugge are in talks over a permanent deal for 21-year-old winger Andreas Schjelderup, with four million euros still separating the clubs.

The sticking point remains price. Club Brugge are prepared to pay about eight million euros upfront plus three in add-ons, which is still short of Rui Costa’s demand.

Benfica paid around 14 million euros to sign Schjelderup from Nordsjaelland in January 2023, have recouped part via a loan fee, and now want about 15 million euros to conclude a sale.

Interest from the Belgian club, currently third in their league, comes as the Norwegian is not an undisputed starter under José Mourinho. A departure is not ruled out if the financial terms are deemed suitable.

This season for Benfica, Schjelderup, valued at 14 million euros, has made 24 appearances, 12 in Liga Portugal Betclic, seven in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga. Across 1,116 minutes he has scored two goals and supplied three assists.
