Wolves are set to sign former England international Kieran Trippier after his Newcastle United release, with a verbal agreement on a two-year deal. The ex-Atletico Madrid and Spurs full-back, a World Cup semi-final goalscorer, had interest from Premier League and Saudi Pro League clubs.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, Wolves are also weighing free agents as they build a squad to push for an automatic return to the Premier League. The news stunned many supporters.
Dennis Cirkin, Sunderland, was linked with Wolves last summer after starring in their play-off triumph. Injuries saw the left-back fall out of favour last season as Sunderland qualified for Europe. Out of contract, his Championship know-how stands out.
Axel Tuanzebe, Burnley, made 14 Premier League starts last season after a one-year move from Ipswich Town. The 28-year-old helped Ipswich win promotion in 2024/25, then made 22 appearances the following campaign. He departed as a free agent, and could be in the same position this summer if no new deal arrives at Turf Moor.
Solly March has left Brighton after more than 300 appearances across 14 seasons. Injuries have hampered him lately, though at 31 he still offers quality and there is Premier League interest. He brings proven top-flight experience and could excel in the Championship.
Josh Laurent, Burnley, is out of contract. The versatile 31-year-old was pivotal in their promotion two seasons ago and featured heavily in the Premier League. He is set to be in demand this summer.
