France have been hit with an injury blow on the eve of their 2026 FIFA World Cup last-16 round. Les Bleus face Germany-slaying Paraguay at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field tonight at 11pm CET. They will do so without Aurélien Tchouaméni. The Real Madrid midfielder is out for tonight’s game after feeling thigh discomfort.

Tchouaméni featured in France’s wins against Senegal (3-1), Norway (4-1) and Sweden (3-0). He was eventually rested in the second group stage game against Iraq (3-0) with Manu Koné filling in. The AS Roma midfielder is therefore expected to anchor France’s midfield again alongside Adrien Rabiot tonight in Philadelphia.

Meanwhile, Didier Deschamps is expected to retain his faith in the team that dismantled Graham Potter’s Swedes with Kylian Mbappé leading the line and Michael Olise deployed as a No. 10.
