France seek to stay top as Belgium visit the Stade de France | OneFootball

France face Belgium at the Stade de France on Monday at 20:45 in matchday four of the Nations League, looking to close Zinédine Zidane’s first camp on a high after a 1-1 draw with Italy.

According to Le Progres, Zidane rotated heavily across the opening three fixtures, using every outfield player except Leny Yoro, and has signalled there will be further intelligent changes to stay competitive. Dayot Upamecano is suspended after his red card against Italy.

Zidane’s 4-3-3 is beginning to take shape, with an emphasis on aggression, especially immediately after losing the ball, as Jules Koundé has outlined.

With two wins and a draw, France lead their Nations League group. They will look to protect that position against Belgium, beaten 1-0 by their neighbour and only one point behind.

For now there is little cause for alarm, and the squad carries the optimism of their former No 10. Zidane has said he tries to be as sincere as possible in what he communicates, even if some things are left unsaid.

Michael Olise has been decisive across the three games so far, with one goal and two assists. Against opponents France have beaten in six successive meetings, he will hope to help restore the winning feeling.
