According to L'Équipe, Franck Haise has left his role as Nice head coach by mutual consent with the board, and Claude Puel is expected to take over.

Nice are 13th in Ligue 1 and had a run of nine straight defeats in all competitions, halted last weekend by a 2-1 Coupe de France win against Saint-Étienne.

Puel previously led the club from 2012 to 2016.

During the slump in Ligue 1 and the Europa League, Haise suggested he could be the fall guy. After a 1-3 loss at Lorient, marked by tensions with supporters on the team’s return to Nice, he offered his resignation to then president Fabrice Bocquet, then quickly withdrew it.

Since taking charge in July 2024, his record across all competitions is 25 wins, 14 draws and 31 defeats. In his first season, Nice finished fourth in Ligue 1, their best since third in 2016-2017, securing a place in the Europa League league phase.

Results in Europe were dismal. In 2024-25 they were 35th and penultimate in the league phase with three points from eight matches. This season they have lost six from six, sit bottom with two rounds remaining, are on an 18-match winless run and are already out.
