Sky Germany reports that Stade Brest’s Franck Honorat is on the verge of joining Borussia Mönchengladbach.
A verbal agreement has been reached between Honorat and Gladbach, with only the final details of the deal with Brest needing to be clarified. The transfer is likely to be clarified soon.
The deal will cost between €6-8m and the 26-year-old will sign a contract at the club until either 2027 or 2028. The winger had only recently extended his contract at Brest until 2026.
Last season, Honorat played 36 times for Brest as they finished 14th in Ligue 1. During the season, Honorat scored six and assisted six.
The 26-year-old is likely to be the replacement for Jonas Hofmann. The 31-year-old surprised everyone earlier on in the week when he agreed to join Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth €10m due to a release clause in his contract. Honorat will be Gladbach’s third attacking signing of the summer as the club have already acquired Grant-Leon Ranos (Bayern Munich) and Robin Hack (Arminia Bielefeld).
