Franck Kessie is keen to move to Juventus this summer and has not considered offers from other clubs, but the Bianconeri have not yet made him the right proposal.
Their first contract offer to the midfielder was worth 3.5m euros net per season for the next three years, but the Ivorian rejected the proposal. Kessie earned 14m euros net per season while playing for Al Ahli in the Saudi Pro League over the last three campaigns, meaning he is not prepared to accept a significant reduction without careful consideration.
The midfielder believes he can still perform at the highest level in Europe and wants to join a relevant club, which is why he has decided that Juventus is the right destination for him.
Juve want him to become their next midfield leader and believe his experience and qualities would improve their squad. However, they need to increase their offer to convince him to complete the move to Turin.
According to Calciomercato, Kessie expects Juventus to pay him around 6m euros net per season before he agrees to join the club. The midfielder is currently waiting for the Bianconeri to improve their proposal as negotiations continue.
For now, Kessie remains focused on Juventus despite serious interest from clubs in Turkiye. The midfielder will respond to those offers only once the main European transfer window closes, as he is a free agent and the Turkish window closes later than the Italian one.
Kessie would be an impressive addition to the Juventus squad, with his experience and ability providing valuable qualities in midfield. However, the Bianconeri will also be determined not to overspend on wages for a player who has already earned significant amounts during his career.
The final decision could depend on whether Juventus are willing to meet Kessie’s demands while maintaining their wage structure. Both sides appear interested in working together, but an agreement still needs to be reached.
