Franck Kita and FC Nantes placed under formal investigation in agents and laundering case | OneFootball

According to L'Équipe, FC Nantes deputy chief executive Franck Kita, the club and two agents have been placed under formal investigation in a sprawling case, while former France international Moussa Sissoko is suspected of using a forged public document.

In July 2017, an internal email from Kita told the club’s administrative and finance director, Blandine, to prepare a two-year professional contract, to call Bakari Sanogo for the player’s details, and to name Joaquim Batica on the paperwork with a 10% commission.

The message is understood to be with Nantes judicial police, who for six years have been examining a possible scheme at the club involving illegal agent activity and money laundering between 2015 and 2023.

The inquiry focuses on arrangements in which some agents were recorded only on paper, while other intermediaries, more discreet, did not feature in official transactions.

The email coincided with Nantes finalising the arrival of a player from PSG, adding another element to material being assessed by investigators.
