Franco Mastantuono set to sign a six-year contract until 2031 with Real Madrid – report | OneFootball

After weeks of negotiations, Real Madrid appear to have made a big breakthrough in the pursuit of Franco Mastantuono.

The River Plate starlet has been closely linked with a move away from Argentina, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain emerging as the two top suitors.

The two European giants, in fact, have been involved in a tug-of-war for Mastantuono in recent days. But Real Madrid appear to have taken the lead and are on the verge of closing the agreement.

Real Madrid to sign Mastantuono for six years

According to AS, Real Madrid are close to reaching an agreement for Mastantuono, who is expected to sign a six-year deal with Los Blancos.

The club will meet his €40 million release clause and even cover the additional taxes River Plate would owe on the deal, which may raise the total investment to approximately €45 million.

The report adds that key figures like Juni Calafat and Jose Angel Sanchez have been instrumental in fast-tracking the operation.

Their early-week visit to Buenos Aires proved decisive, with talks intensifying on Wednesday and nearing completion by Thursday.

This comes shortly after reports that suggested Mastantuono wants to join Real Madrid and has rejected a move to PSG even though the French giants were offering more money.

Will Mastantuono join this summer?

Even though Real Madrid appear to be on the brink of signing Mastantuono, the big question remains: when exactly will he join the club.

As per the report, Mastantuono will stay with River Plate at least until the Club World Cup under Marcelo Gallardo, fulfilling one of the player and club’s key demands.

His situation will then be reassessed, with a possible loan back to River Plate until January on the table.
