Franjo Ivanovic is enduring a difficult first season at Benfica under José Mourinho.
A Bola reports that the Croatian forward is frustrated by how the campaign has unfolded at the Luz, largely due to limited use since Mourinho took charge, yet he does not intend to give up.
He has played only 25 minutes across the last seven matches, underlining how rarely he has been used. His limited involvement has been explained as a profile mismatch with the manager’s demands.
Even so, he remains Benfica’s third top scorer with five goals, behind Andreas Schjelderup on six and Vangelis Pavlidis on 28, though his own form has dipped. He continues to work to impress in training and in the chances he receives.
Valued at 20 million euros, he has made 33 competitive appearances, 16 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 11 in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal and two in the Taça da Liga.
Across 1,127 minutes he has also provided one assist, and he is focused on establishing himself, aiming for a World Cup place and greater visibility in 2026/27.
