Coventry City have completed the permanent signing of Frank Onyeka from Brentford for an undisclosed fee following his loan spell at the CBS Arena.
The Nigeria international initially arrived in February to bolster Frank Lampard’s midfield options and quickly established himself as a key figure during the Sky Blues’ push for the Sky Bet Championship title. His contributions helped steer the club back into the Premier League for the first time in 25 years, sealing a remarkable turnaround in fortunes.
Onyeka made 14 appearances during his loan stint and also chipped in with an important goal in a crucial win over Derby County in April.
The 28-year-old now makes his stay permanent after a productive spell in the West Midlands, ending his five-year association with Brentford. Since joining the Bees from Midtjylland in 2021, he went on to make 87 appearances in all competitions.
