Chelsea and Manchester United are both monitoring Hugo Ekitiké’s situation closely, and Paris Saint-Germain could benefit financially if a deal goes through.

The 22-year-old striker is expected to leave Eintracht Frankfurt soon, and PSG are set to receive 20 percent of any transfer fee due to a sell-on clause in his contract. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are still showing interest in Ekitiké.

“Hugo Ekitiké is really appreciated by Chelsea, he’s a player they really like, but at the moment the negotiation is not closed at all because Chelsea were asking for information to Eintracht Frankfurt about the player and their answer was that his asking price is €100m,” Romano noted.

“So, that is the price tag from Eintracht, and at the moment that’s too expensive for Chelsea. Let’s see if the price changes or if Chelsea will decide to change their strategies later in the market.”

Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche has made it clear the club has no intention of selling Ékitiké unless their valuation is met, despite growing interest from several Premier League teams.

Ékitiké, who joined Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain just last summer, impressed in his first season in Germany, scoring 22 goals and adding 12 assists. The 22-year-old is under contract until 2029, and Frankfurt are believed to value him at around £85 million.

“If the price isn’t right, then he’ll simply stay with us,” Krösche told Wiesbadener Kurier (h/t The Mirror). “We don’t have to sell Ékitiké.”

This week, Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported that Manchester United have officially entered the race for Ékitiké, making contact with Eintracht Frankfurt.

They’ve expressed strong interest and gathered all the key details around a possible deal. Liverpool and Chelsea are still in the mix, but now United are firmly in the conversation. Frankfurt’s asking price stands at €100 million.
