Lazio head coach Gennaro Gattuso will be without eight players during the extended international break, including new signing Davide Frattesi.

Davide Frattesi Will Represent Lazio in Italy Squad

The Inter Milan loanee scored the Biancocelesti’s first three goals of the season, so Roberto Mancini expectedly included him in the first squad of his second reign with the Italian national team. The Azzurri will take part in four UEFA Nations League contests over the next three weeks: They play Belgium, Turkiye (twice), and France. However, Mattia Zaccagni was snubbed despite his good form.

Denmark Duo & Josip Sutalo

In addition to Frattesi, seven other Lazio players were called up by their respective national teams, and they all happen to be European nations taking part in the UEFA Nations League. Denmark duo Gustav Isaksen and Oliver Provstgaard will face Norway, Wales (x2), and Portugal, while Josip Sutalo’s Croatia will play the Czech Republic, Spain (x2), and England.

Christos Mandas & Kenneth Taylor Set to Meet

The in-form Christos Mandas will be hoping to feature for Greece, who play Serbia, Germany (x2), and the Netherlands. The Lazio goalkeeper could thus cross paths with Kenneth Taylor, who joins Xavi Hernandez’s Oranje squad.

Nuno Tavares

Nuno Tavares’ revival was rewarded with a call-up from Portugal’s new boss Jorge Jesus. The left-back will be seeking playing time in the double fixture against Norway, plus the games against Wales and Denmark, where a direct clash with Isaksen could ensue on the flanks.

Albert Gudmundsson

Unlike his aforementioned Lazio teammates who will all compete in League A, Albert Gudmundsson will feature in League C, as he tries to propel Iceland to the second division. The 29-year-old will be expected to play a key role for his nation against Estonia (x2), Luxembourg, and Bulgaria.
