Benfica midfielder Fredrik Aursnes admitted responsibility after his misplaced pass led to Wales' opener in the Nations League. "It was my fault. I received the ball and maybe I should have been facing forward rather than playing a lay-off. It was intercepted and then they scored. At this level you get punished, so the blame is mine," he told TV2.
He had played at full-back in the opening two games, against Denmark (3-2) and Portugal (2-1). This time he returned to midfield alongside Sander Berge and Martin Odegaard, but the combination did not click.
"It did not work very well, at least for me, in the first half. We have to work on it and see what we can do better. We should have handled the situation better," Aursnes said.
After two consecutive defeats, Norway are third in Group A4 with three points.
They travel to Estádio do Dragão on Sunday to face Portugal, who need a win to secure automatic progression to the next phase of the competition.
