Transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano claims that Milan have approached former Real Madrid legend Luka Modric as a free agent to fulfil a childhood dream playing at San Siro.

The midfielder has come to the end of his contract with the Merengues after 13 years where he won absolutely everything.

Even though he turns 40 in September, he is still eager to carry on playing, with Inter Miami and Al-Nassr potential candidates for his next step.

Now Romano reports that Milan’s new director of sport Igli Tare has contacted Modric to ask if he would be interested in coming to Serie A and San Siro.

As he is a free agent, Milan would be able to offer him an impressive salary, probably with the help of some sponsorship deals.

MilanNews.it point out that Modric has said he was a supporter of Milan since childhood, so they hope that would be enough to convince him to fulfil a dream.

“Modric is a real ‘milanista’. He’s been one since he was little and he had so much passion to come here, but it was never serious. He didn’t want to leave Real after one bad season,” revealed former Rossoneri chief Zvonimir Boban.

Coach Max Allegri is also eager to work with the Croatia international.
