Kicker reports that SC Freiburg are preparing to send Noah Weißhaupt out to Legia Warsaw. The 23-year-old attacking talent prepares to depart Bundesliga football for the first time in his four-year professional career. Weißhaupt will be reunited with former Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Hertha BSC sporting executive Fredi Bobic in the Ekstraklasa.
Weißhaupt most recently worked on loan with St. Pauli during the second half of last season. Despite some promising performances, Hamburg’s Kiezkicker declined to retain the services of the former Germany U21 international and immediately shipped him back to Breisgau this summer.
SCF head coach Julian Schuster barely used the Rostock native in camp and Weißhaupt has not been selected for either one of Schuster’s matchday squads thus far this season. The versatile winger does still maintain an estimated €5m market value.
Kicker does not specify whether Weißhaupt will be loaned or sold to Bobic’s Polish outfit.
