French Barcelona supporters say they were targeted with racist gestures by fans in the Feyenoord section during the Champions League tie at Camp Nou, which the hosts won 5-1 on Wednesday.

According to L'Équipe, videos show a man in the away end pointing at several French Barça fans before imitating a monkey.

He then made multiple middle finger gestures. In the foreground, another man mimed a throat-slitting action.

Esia, a Barça socia, said they spent the match trying to protect themselves as the individual hurled various things at them, and that what started as banter ended with racist shouts.

Local authorities had classified the Feyenoord supporters’ trip as high risk, prompting reinforced security and extra oversight. Barcelona have been made aware of the incidents.
