Questioned on the sidelines of the FFF general assembly last night, Jean-Michel Aulas responded to Karim Benzema's recent remarks. The player has openly expressed his desire to play in the next World Cup with the French national team. The Federation's vice-president admitted he was both surprised and moved by the former international's intentions.

"I think it's great when former internationals say: 'I want more.' It's when they say, 'I don't want it anymore,' that it's worrying. But regarding the French national team, it's true that we didn't expect this," said the former president of Olympique Lyonnais. However, he reminded everyone that the final decision rests with the head coach, as reported by L’Équipe.
