The agent of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has hit out at speculation of a potential departure from the club for the Dutch international.
De Jong's future has been the subject of relentless speculation for years now and, as he enters the final 18 months of his contract, the uncertainty has grown further. His limited role under new manager Hansi Flick has only added more fuel to the fire.
It was recently reported by AS that De Jong's agent, Ali Dursun, had been exploring a possible transfer to Saudi Arabia, with the Dutchman claimed to be interested in the riches on offer in the Saudi Pro League.
However, Dursun himself has now rubbished the speculation, telling De Telegraaf: "Talks in Saudi Arabia? Total nonsense. It distracts from Frenkie's real ambition. He only wants one thing: to be fit to shine longer at the club he loves and where he feels at home."
Regardless of De Jong's apparent wish to remain at Barcelona, there have been countless reports suggesting the feeling is not mutual, with the Blaugrana said to be keen to offload De Jong and his high wages.
Earlier this season, De Jong is believed to have received a contract ultimatum from Barcelona, warning him that he must agree an extension before the end of the calendar year if he wants to remain at the club.
