Middlesbrough are looking to sign a new striker this summer, but they aren't interested in Leeds United's Patrick Bamford.
Middlesbrough are in the market for a new striker ahead of the transfer deadline, but they are not looking at a deal for Leeds United’s Patrick Bamford.
The Teesside outfit got off to the perfect start to the Championship season on Saturday, as they beat Swansea City 1-0 at the Riverside Stadium, thanks to a goal from defender Dael Fry.

Whilst that was a positive start, it’s clear to Rob Edwards that the squad needs strengthening before the deadline, and a new striker is among the priorities for Boro.
There had been some talk that Boro could move to bring Bamford back to the club, with the 31-year-old out of favour at Elland Road, and even with Leeds lacking options up top themselves, he has been told he could leave by boss Daniel Farke.
Therefore, a summer move feels inevitable for the ex-England international, but the Northern Echo has confirmed that he is not a player on Boro’s radar right now.

They reiterate that identifying a new number nine is one of the two chief priorities for Boro right now, along with a left wing-back, but they have different targets to Bamford.
Bamford has had a fantastic career, and he will still feel he has plenty to offer, so it would have been an interesting signing if Boro had decided to bring him in.
However, there would be obvious risks to this deal, not least that he has a mixed injury record in recent years - and this is a signing that Boro can’t really afford to get wrong if they are to be in the promotion mix come May.
Whilst Tommy Conway is a good player, they lack a prolific goalscorer, and the reality is that they haven’t replaced Emmanuel Latte Lath since his move to Atlanta United.
Of course, in an ideal world, Boro would bring in a new striker before the weekend trip to Millwall, but it may not be as straightforward as that.
The upcoming sale of Rav van den Berg to FC Koln should increase the budget, and the recruitment team will no doubt have a lot of players on their radar.
So, it will be interesting to see who Boro bring in, and fans will be hoping for a high-profile signing to help Edwards and the team this season.
