According to a report from Caughtoffside, the heavyweight Premier League clubs could make a serious effort to sign Karl in the 2026 summer transfer window.

Karl is seen as a generational talent, and Bayern reportedly value him at €70-80 million, although the youngster does not have a release clause.

Karl grabbed the headlines this month when he scored a sensational goal against Club Brugge in the Champions League and was the best player on the pitch.

He followed it up with another cracking performance against Borussia Monchengladbach, scoring another spectacular goal with a curling effort.

Vincent Kompany has a wealth of attacking options at his disposal, but he has still used Karl wisely, and the youngster is repaying the faith.

Lennart Karl: Contract situation

It is needless to say that Bayern will do everything they can to hold on to their crown jewel.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Karl’s current deal is valid until 2028, and it will automatically be extended until 2029 on his 18th birthday, 22 February 2026.

The youngster will not only sign a professional contract, but will see a salary increase.

Plettenberg claims that Karl has no intention of leaving Bayern; instead, he wants to establish himself as a regular first-team player at the club.

He wants to make a breakthrough at the club and aims to play for Germany at the 2026 World Cup, a plan supported by his advisor Michael Ballack.

With no release clause likely to be attached to his next contract, it gives Bayern the power to demand a premium transfer fee for Karl if any Premier League club shows genuine interest.
