Derby County goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom is the subject of a bid from Monza - but it is being laughed off by Rams fans
Derby County goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom is the subject of a transfer bid from Serie A outfit Monza.
The Rams have less than two weeks left of the summer transfer window to get deals done, and they will be wanting to seal incomings, rather than selling some of their first-teamers.
The falling through of Turki Alalshikh's takeover bid at Pride Park has seemingly been a monumental waste of time over the summer months for the Championship outfit, but chairman David Clowes will now press ahead with trying to back John Eustace for the rest of the window - that also means keeping hold of star players too.

One dilemma that the Derby hierarchy face though is what to do with goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom, who is in the final year of his contract after his 2024 move from Djurgardens.
The Rams landed Zetterstrom for just £1.4 million two years ago, and given his performances for the Pride Park outfit last season, as well as at the FIFA World Cup with Sweden, big bids were perhaps expected.
However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has reported that with less than two weeks of the transfer window to go, Italian Serie A side Monza have come to the table with a bid - but it is only worth €2.5 million (£2.14 million), plus a 50 per cent sell-on clause.
That would likely be far lower than what Derby value the 28-year-old at, even with just one year remaining on his contract, and it would be no surprise if that offer was thrown out and sent back across Europe.

Naturally, Derby supporters have been quick to react to the news of Monza's bid for Zetterstrom - and it's generally been similar reactions all round.
This fan in particular thinks the Italian outfit must be intoxicated to bid the amount they have for the Swedish stopper.
Another thinks a mistake has been made with the offer in that only one of Zetterstrom's two hands have been bid for.
This is another Rams fan who is in shock at the news of the offer.
This Derby supporter thinks that the club have been incredibly lowballed in a first bid for the goalkeeper.
And another fan has jokingly pointed out that the money that Monza have put on the table would not even get them reserve goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell!
One Rams fan though does believe a seven-figure sum would get a deal done for. Zetterstrom, which is perhaps far less than what other fans rate him at.

You have to say that Monza's bid for Zetterstrom is an incredibly cheeky one - just over £2 million for one of the Championship's top goalkeepers is incredibly low.
If he did not have less than one year remaining on his contract at Pride Park, it's highly likely that the opening offer would've been a lot bigger, but it's perhaps a given that clubs will try their luck.
Should Derby want to cash in on the Swede though, if he's not going to sign a new contract, then it has to be a lot more for the paltry £2 million figure that is currently being offered - that money will likely not get them an adequate replacement in the market in 2026, and you are probably looking towards more the £7.5 million mark and above as to what a fair fee would be.
