Freytes steps up recovery, could return on Saturday v Palmeiras

Center-back Freytes has made progress in his recovery from bone edema in his right ankle and could be included in Fluminense’s squad again in the coming matches. According to reporter Lucas Ribeiro, from the newspaper O Globo, the defender has a chance of being available as early as this Saturday (15), against Palmeiras, in the Brazilian Championship.

However, the possibility increases for the match against Independiente Rivadavia next Tuesday (18), in the second leg of the Copa Libertadores round of 16. Freytes suffered the injury in the 1-1 draw with Bahia on July 29, in the Brasileirão. Since then, the center-back has been sidelined from the Tricolor team.
