2-1 loss to FC Blau-Weiß Linz

As part of the opening of a new sports facility in Pischelsdorf, our Red Bulls played a friendly match there against FC Blau-Weiß Linz. The clash with the 2. Liga leaders ended in a narrow 1–2 defeat.

Early on, Edmund Baidoo headed our boys into the lead following a fine assist by Konate. The Ghanaian also hit the crossbar shortly afterwards, while Dominik Schmid and Stefan Lainer failed to convert good chances. Linz captain Manuel Maranda equalized with a header just before the break. Shortly after the restart, the Linz side turned the match around, scoring in the 47th minute to seal a 2–1 win.

We wrapped up a good week of training with a genuinely good friendly match, even if the final result wasn't what we wanted. That’s a bit frustrating. However, we were able to implement much of what we had planned and handled many situations well, especially in possession. We also created enough chances to win the game. Now we have two days off before we can fully prepare for the next block of important matches.
