Norberto Beto is eager to leave Everton to play more and is open to returning to Serie A, but a move to Roma doesn’t necessarily entice him. It wouldn’t be too tough to arrange as the two clubs have the same ownership. On the other hand, he’d continue to be a deputy behind Artem Dovbyk, TuttoSport informs.
The center-forward would rather join a team where he’d be a regular starter. Torino are chasing after him, and they’d guarantee him that since they need to replace Duvan Zapata, who suffered an ACL tear.
On the other hand, the robust valuation of Beto favor Roma over the Granata. The Toffees paid €25M to acquire him from Udinese in August of 2023 and don’t want to record a big loss. They are open to a loan with an obligation to buy, provided his sale nets about €20M.
Torino like the player but might not be willing to invest that much. He hasn’t produced as much as with the Friuliani in the Premier League, scoring 7 goals and dishing 2 assists in 49 appearances. He has started once this campaign and just ten times in general. The 26-year-old had his most prolific Serie A campaign in 2021/2022 finding the target on 11 occasions. The Giallorossi are expected to bring in a new marksman if they offload Eldor Shomurodov.
Unfortunately for him, he’s in a tough spot as, given his skillset and underwhelming output, he’s at most a backup in a big team, but only those can afford him in January. Perhaps a loan with no strings attached will do the trick.
