Victor Froholdt has become a cornerstone for FC Porto, his output spiking in the season’s tightest phase. The Dane has featured in 84.5% of the team’s minutes, and with him on the pitch Porto have not lost in domestic competitions.
According to O Jogo, over the past month he recorded goal contributions in four straight league games, a first in his career. He scored against Benfica and Rio Ave, and supplied assists versus Moreirense, twice, and Arouca.
Those goals proved directly valuable, worth one point at the Luz and two in the home meeting with Rio Ave.
Before arriving, he had four assists in 62 matches for Copenhagen, now he has seven in 39 for Porto and needs one more goal to match his best scoring season.
He introduced himself with a goal and two assists in August, earning swift approval and convincing Francesco Farioli he embodies the club’s DNA. After a dip that saw him withdrawn in some games, he has refuelled and launched his most impactful run in blue and white. He is also the team’s leading outfield appearance maker with 3,120 minutes, underlining the staff’s trust as Porto chase three trophies.
