An insight into the plans of the brass at La Liga giants Barcelona for the club’s midfield with a view to next season has this week been forthcoming.
The info comes courtesy of Diario Sport, and points towards the Blaugrana’s well-stocked engine room being in line for a reduction, rather than increase in numbers this summer.
As things stand, Barcelona have seven first-team midfielders in their ranks, namely Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Marc Casadó, Pablo Torre, Dani Olmo and Fermín López.
This group will be added to by the returning Marc Bernal over the weeks ahead, making for an eight-man group.
With just three positions to fight for in Hansi Flick’s XI, it should in turn not come as a major surprise to hear of at least one departure being predicted from Barca’s midfield over the weeks ahead.
And the leading candidate, as things stand, comes in the form of Pablo Torre.
As per a report from Sport:
‘Pablo Torre has the numbers to leave this summer, either on loan or on a transfer.’
