Friday the 4th of October 2024 will be a date that will live long in the memory of Lee Bonis. The 25-year-old from Northern IReland grabbed a hat-trick for ADO Den Haag in their 5-1 demolition away to TOP Oss. This was the sides first win in five games following a string of three draws in a row. For Bonis, he is certainly starting to make a name for himself in the Dutch second tier over the past two match days.
The former Larne man joined the side in the summer and grabbed his first goal in a 1-1 draw with Jong Utrecht last weekend. Within five minutes of the clash away to TOP Oss he had grabbed his second of the season. His second on the night came shortly after, before the striker completed his hat-trick in the 74th minute. Juho Kilo also helped himself to two as the side romped to victory.
Bonis was in fantastic form for Larne last season as he scored 27 goals in 46 games across all competitions. This built on the 17 he had scored the previous season. The striker, who has a contract until 2026, reportedly cost the side just €250k. If he continues this form he could be one of the signings of the season in the Dutch second tier.
