Sandro Tonali has reportedly been offered to Real Madrid as he prepares for a Newcastle United departure this summer, according to Diario AS (relayed by The Madrid Zone).
The growing speculation over the player’s future is now making it seem almost nailed-on that he’ll be on the move come the end of the season.
In a boost to Tonali’s suitors, Italy’s World Cup qualification heartbreak this week means they can begin negotiating a potential transfer from the moment the campaign ends.
Credit where it’s due to the 25-year-old, he did his bit to try and secure his nation’s place by scoring in the play-off semis and scoring Italy’s only penalty in the final shootout against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Now, however, his focus will solely be on finding a resolution to his uncertain situation, having garnered interest from the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Madrid.

Back in January, Tonali was offered to the Gunners by his agent in the dying embers of the winter window, but nothing materialised due to the timing of the talks and the fact Newcastle had no desire to sell mid-season.
That’s why it doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility that his representatives have done the same with Los Blancos in the lead-up to summer, with it now becoming common knowledge that the Spanish giants are on the hunt for a new midfielder.
If it were entirely up to him, you’d imagine Tonali, whose priority is continuing to play in the Champions League each year, would opt for the 15-time European champions over a move within England.
While United are favourites to finish in the top four by May and, therefore, in the UCL places, it goes without saying that it’s nowhere near as much of a given for English sides to continously qualify than it is for Madrid – just look at how Liverpool (fifth) are faring in the aftermath of their league-winning term and Chelsea (sixth) after winning both the Club World Cup and UEFA Conference League.
