Back in 2016, Brazilian club Chapecoense lost almost their entire team in a horrific plane crash.
But just over four years later, that tragic tale finally has a happy ending.
Two weeks ago, Chapecoense celebrated promotion back to the Brazilian Serie A and on Friday evening, they went one better by clinching the Serie B title with a 3-1 win over Confiança de Aracajú.
The final goal of the game was scored by Anselmo Ramón with a cool Panenka penalty …
… and that goal meant Chape just nudged ahead of América de Belo Horizonte to finish the season top of the table.
And if that weren’t good enough, the trophy was lifted by Alan Ruschel – one of the three players who survived the plane crash.
Fairytale stuff.
