Max Dowman’s goal for Arsenal against Everton on 14 March 2026 made him the Premier League’s youngest scorer at 16 years and 73 days. Born on 31 December 2009, he also completed the 2000s birth-year set.

According to NY Times, the league, founded in August 1992, now has a scorer born in every year of the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. The 1950s remain the only incomplete decade.

Among the earliest, Kevin Moran, born on 29 April 1956, is the earliest-born man to score in the competition. John Burridge, born in 1951, is the earliest-born to appear.

The 1960s were wrapped up within five days in 1992. Brian Deane scored the first Premier League goal on 15 August, Peter Beardsley completed the decade on 19 August, and Teddy Sheringham’s 16 August strike was the first shown live on television.

The 1970s took far longer. Michael Owen completed the decade in May 1997, after West Ham’s Dani finally opened 1976 in February 1996, by which time Jason Euell had already ticked off 1977.

The 1980s closed in September 2007 when Gareth Bale scored for Tottenham, the first Premier League scorer born after the World Wide Web’s invention. The 1990s ended with Domingos Quina in December 2018, while Connor Wickham was the first post-launch birth to score.

Ryan Sessegnon opened the 2000s in October 2018. Rio Ngumoha was the first born after the iPhone’s release, and Dowman the first after Bitcoin began circulating. It is just a matter of time before the 2010s open their account.
