Frustration growing in Dani Olmo’s camp as summer signing misses out again vs Athletic | OneFootball

Frustration is understandably beginning to mount in the camp of Barcelona summer signing Dani Olmo.

This comes after the 26-year-old was, for the 2nd week running, not afforded the chance to make his debut for the club.

Barcelona are of course in line to return to action in short order, in a La Liga meeting with Athletic Club.

Olmo was for his part included in the Blaugrana’s matchday squad for the matchup, albeit with an asterisk alongside the name of the Spanish international.

This came as those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou continued to work towards freeing up the financial space to register their new signing on the club’s La Liga wage bill.

In the end, however, such efforts came up short.

Olmo, as a result, will be left to watch on from the stands once again on Saturday night.

And as much, it should come as little surprise to hear, has not gone down overly well in the camp of the former RB Leipzig standout.

As per a report from Barca insider Gerard Romero:

‘Fayé and Lenglet’s operations did not arrive in time to generate the fair play necessary to register Dani Olmo. The temperature in Olmo’s camp is beginning to heat up.’
