FSG are ready to make an extraordinary decision on the future of Arne Slot.
Liverpool's recent form is no longer a blip but instead a far bigger problem. In Slot's last 42 games, Liverpool have won just 21 matches.
A 50% win rate as manager in that length of time should put his job at risk. It sounds bizarre even saying it given how lauded and successful he was during his first season.
However, since the turn of the year Slot and his side have fallen below expectations. It things like things are petering out. Slot just doesn't seem to have a handle on things.
Nor has he been able to figure out how to integrate the new signings that have arrived at the club.

Now, if we had the pedigree of Jurgen Klopp and the reputation that the German comes with perhaps Liverpool might be prepared to give him a chance.
But Slot doesn't have that. One Premier League title is not enough, even if it was on his debut season, to give him job security a discard an entire campaign.
Liverpool have vested financial interests that requires them to reach the Champions League every year. Not doing that would be catastrophic for the club.
Especially because it would also mean likely not being able to attract the same level of players that they would have been able to this summer when Liverpool were able to recruit from a position of strength.
Slot is therefore on very thin ice. His job is extremely under threat and even though Liverpool have never fired a title winning manager in the entire history of the club FSG are undoubtedly ready to make that extraordinary decision.
This is according to a report from Indy Kalia who reports that high level FSG officials are ready to remove Slot as head-coach of the club despite the initial plan of giving him until January to turn things around.
What it ultimately means is that Slot's entire future could ride on the next game, or the next two. If he suffers another defeat against West Ham United on Sunday, it looks impossible for him to keep his job.
The situation Liverpool are in is simply not tenable. Defeat to PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night proved that. Liverpool were hapless and completely out of sorts.
Everything just seems to be going awry at the moment. Slot's tactics are not working and you have to question whether the players truly believe in him anymore.
Based on the evidence of the last few games, it doesn't look like it. If he has indeed lost the dressing room then there is no going back.
An extraordinary decision does have to be made. Something Liverpool have never had to do in the past. And it looks like FSG are ready to do it.
