According to Sky, Fulham are said to be closing in on a deal for Southampton midfielder Charles, with talks described as advanced. A full agreement has not yet been reached, with discussions centred on a fee of about €30 million and personal terms still to be agreed.
Leeds United are understood to have had multiple bids rejected for the 22-year-old this summer. Fulham have also seen at least one offer turned down.
Charles joined Southampton from Manchester City in 2023 for around £15 million. City hold a 15 per cent sell-on clause for any future sale.
He enjoyed a standout campaign at St Mary’s last term, making 38 appearances and scoring important goals against Leicester City, Arsenal and Middlesbrough.
He then spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, where he also impressed. Charles trained as normal with Southampton in Germany last week and featured in friendlies against Eintracht Braunschweig and Preussen Münster.
