ulham failed with a late move for Wolves striker Sasa Kalajdzic.
Standard Sport understands Fulham and AC Milan and others enquired about 26-year-old’s availability in the final two weeks of the window, but Wolves insist he is not for sale as they see him as their main striker for the season.
Wolves signed Kalajdzic from Stuttgart last summer in a deal worth around £15million only to see him suffer an ACL injury on his debut last season, limiting his involvement in his first campaign in England to just a single appearance.
Fulham have considered a number of offers as replacements for Aleksandar Mitrovic, since selling the Serbian all-time leading scorer to Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia for £46m.
They did spend £5m to bring Raul Jimenez in from Kalajdzic’s current employers, and Wolves were unwilling to sell both strikers to the same Premier League rival.
Fulham had hoped to spend the final week of the transfer window bolstering several positions including centre-forward but have instead been preoccupied with negotiations over Joao Palhinha’s now likely exit for Bayern Munich.
